ABOUT
ABOUT JESS
Born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1990, now residing in Baltimore County. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drawing with a concentration in Printmaking from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 2012.
PAST
I entered college with a portfolio full of realistic charcoal drawings and graduated college with a series of large scale abstract colorful paintings and prints, and studying and replicating Master Drawings. After college while working for the URBN brand I have been able to work with a variety of materials including but not limited to paper, fiber, wood, plaster, pipe, metal flashing and wire. Switching gears, a job with a local florist ignited an interest in me to want to create things outdoors and from that sparked my farm Bloomhouse.
PRESENT
Currently I live on a 4.1 acre farmette where I farm cut flowers and run it as a garden and outdoor event space. I am still a working artist, taking on all kinds of projects from drawings to murals. I have a one year old daughter and look forward to many years of creating things for her and with her.
